1st Translation Europe Forum

1st Translation Europe Forum

Dear Sir/Madam,

We are pleased to invite you to attend our 1st Translating Europe Forum, on 18 and 19 September 2014 in Brussels.

DGT wants to establish a more structured cooperation with its stakeholders, to create a community of interest, with a view to giving visibility to the world of translation, exchanging good practices, developing common projects and promoting a diversified and sustainable market for professional translators in Europe.

The aim of this conference is to bring together stakeholders (universities, providers and buyers of translation services, public institutions, private companies) to discuss translation- related matters and facilitate the development of concrete projects.

The first day will be dedicated to three topics: Innovation in the Translation Sector and EU initiatives and Funding Opportunities in the Translation Sector and Bridging the Skills Gap.  The second day will be dedicated to Translation and Intellectual Property Rights and a Round Table on Ideas for the future of the Forum.

The 1st Translating Europe Forum will take place in the Albert Borschette building in Brussels. The conference will also be available online for the general public through web streaming (details on the Translating Forum website: http://europa.eu/!Yn33fv).

A draft programme is attached. We would ask you to register, by 31 August 2014, using the following link: https://scic.ec.europa.eu/fmi/TEF2014/start.php
